As an insurgency spreads through the ancient city of Abelscinnia, its foreign governor orders security forces to clamp down and re-establish order. Flesh and blood people like you and me decide to risk everything for freedom, and for love.
Flesh and blood people with family and friends, who decide that they will seize the only life
worth living."Live free, or die" might well have been written of them. Like us, they do
the best they can, with the knowledge they have.The reader is privy to those things
the characters do not know. You want to tip them off. You hope somebody does. You cheer,
for their good choices. You ache for the ones that should have been better.
The characters have faith we wish we had, and they convince us that we can.
You forget they are characters in a book. You see, they root for us, too.
Tegene, the protagonist, has this to say about choices-
"There is no fairness, nor certainty, in any choice, beloved.
there is risk in whatever choice you embark upon."
Choose this book. Take the risk, and enjoy the wild ride.
You have four days, and the promise of freedom.
I found the reward well worth it.
