This is a very emotional book. It has alternating time frames between past and present. Out main character is blessed with a caring, loving and supportive family. Wrynn’s growing up with her best friend and her brother is where the story starts. Wrynn and Tripp were the best of friends and when they fall in love and her brother sees them holding hands he remarks t was about time. I guess everyone saw it before they realized it.Wrynn has a long journey of loss with Tripp. It is hard to imagine being alone with three kids and struggling.Although many people who read the book will argue, I like his Mother. She brought a different dynamic to the story. The reason why I liked her was because I hated her. The author did a great job with her background and reveal. That being said, she was evil for a reason and although I wanted Wrynn to smack her, I completely understood she was not made to be like that even for an evil woman. There sure is a lot that created Mother to be the way she was. It is a big reveal, so hold on for that.
Wrynn has a job as a hostess, which is exhausting and she does not need the money. I think it helps her to keep the nervous breakdown at arms length. It is a very compelling tale of life, love and the serious effects of military life. I would have liked to have it read all together and not alternating. It was hard going from happy, curious, young and in love teens to the reality check he was gone. So there is a lot of emotions here.
I will add it is totally a PG rated book. So share it with your teens and maybe it will let the reading bug bite them!

Searching for Tomorrow Kathryn McNeill Crane 9781493542673 Books Reviews
I'm absolutely amazed by this book. Books rarely surprise me anymore, but this one did. Nothing about it was what I expected including the ending. Going into it I knew it was going to be an emotional and difficult read from the synopsis alone. This story is full of heart wrenching pain, hope, loss, and healing. It's a book about real life and all the pain and love that comes with it. Wrynn's tragic love story immediately captured my attention with the beautiful and detailed writing style. It's one of those books that you keep glancing to the percentage in the lower corner of your kindle silently wishing the book to last just a little longer because you aren't ready for it to end.
Wrynn has had everything we hope to ever have in our lives... a true and honest love, a wonderful family, beautiful children, and an all around happy existence. Then one day her life is shattered as she receives news of her husband's death. Three years later and Wrynn is just going through the motions trying to survive and raise her three daughters. Wrynn was such a great character and so strong under her fragile exterior. I fell in love with her and my heart broke right along side her as she struggled to find peace without the other half of her heart. Her story is told in past and present so we get to know her from a young age and experience all the joy, pain, and struggles thrown at her.
Kathryn McNeill Crane does a beautiful job with this story and successfully broke my heart into a million pieces and then somehow put it all back together before I knew what was going on.
"You're my everything. You're the reason I breathe, the reason I live. I can't imagine my life without you. I've loved you forever, and that love will never die."
Wrynn and Tripp have known each other since third grade. Combined with Wrynn's twin brother Liam the three were inseparable. Tripp became one of the family quickly eventually moving in. Friendship eventually flows into love. When 9/11 hits Tripp decides to follow in family footsteps and join the Army. What happens next is what shapes the Wrynn we know today. A single mom to 3 beautiful girls struggling to make it day by day. Searching for her tomorrow.
Being a military spouse I knew this book was going to be emotional for me. But I was not prepared for what hit me as I read this book, the love between Tripp and Wrynn is so powerful. Wrynn is so lost without her soulmate it's hard to read and not want to reach in there and hug her and help her. I loved how the book went from present chapters then to past chapters weaving in time as if it has no boundaries. The present giving you some sadness for Wrynn and then perking you back up with a perfect memory of happy times. All coming to a head at the end, mixing together, blurring the lines of time and making you question everything. This book was such an emotional roller coaster. 10+ stars for this book... Okay it will only let me rate 5 but really it's worth so much more.
This is a sweet story overall, but I didn't particularly connect with any of the characters. They are likable, and while I should have identified with Wrynn the most, I didn't. Wrynn is trying to adjust to her life without her beloved husband Tripp. There's flashbacks every other chapter to the development of their relationship. Since Tripp isn't around, I wasn't sure why I was constantly reading about him in the past if Wrynn needed to move forward. Eventually, that question gets answered and it all makes sense. The romance between Wrynn and Tripp was endearing, but I felt like a very distant spectator rather than experiencing it with them. I was more intrigued by Liam (Wrynn's brother) than anyone else. However, I do like the tie in with Tripp being in the military and the tribute to the nation's troops.
What an emotional book!! So many feels. My heart ached through most of the book. It completely broke at one point, then soared the next.
I loved how it was told in alternating chapters of present day and the past. They flowed together and enhanced the story. I could really feel the depth of Tripp and Wrynn's love and how it shaped their family.
Although this has a Very Happily Ever After, this book is filled with angst, you will need to grab some tissues while reading, for the sad as well as for the happy!
Katherine Crane's writing style is a refreshing change in the romance genre. She has a way of showing the depth and love that is expected in a romance novel without having to tell all the graphic details. I look forward to more romantic stories from her.
